Accordeonportaal.nl is an initiative of Marion van Kouwen. As a child Marion played the chromatic accordion. The career in the field of marketing communications that followed, didn't leave much space for the music though. For many years Marion worked as account director for several advertising agencies in Amsterdam, and as interim manager for national and international companies all over the Netherlands. In 2002 she discovered the little accordion that would lead her back to the music: the diatonic accordion. After two years of juggling with time - next to duties in family and work, it was hard to give way to the hugely increased urge to play - she took a 'break' in order to improve her skills on the accordion. The 'break' lasts until today... Since 2005 Marion is active as manager for bands and organizer of events (like Mokumbal and Festival Accordeonslag) under the name Skizzo. Next to that she performs and teaches music. With Accordeonportaal.nl Marion hopes to have created a platform that gives everybody the chance to get to know the beautiful instruments belonging to the extended accordion family!
